The Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA ), through the Economic Stimulus Programme fund, is supporting a comprehensive workshop aimed at enhancing the use of the Dzongkha language and the principles of Driglam Namzha in the film industry.
The workshop, which is scheduled from 21- 25 March 2025, is being conducted by the Film Association of Bhutan (FAB).
Recognizing the importance of preserving and promoting Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage, the workshop is aimed at providing filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals with the necessary skills to effectively communicate in Dzongkha and uphold the values of Driglam Namzha—our national code of etiquette and conduct. The workshop will include seminars and hands-on training sessions led by experienced instructors from the Government and Industry veterans.
The workshop will cover various aspects, including scriptwriting, dialogue delivery, cultural nuances, and etiquette in filmmaking through Dzongkha and Driglam Namzha. Participants will engage in practical exercises to enhance their proficiency in Dzongkha and gain a deeper understanding of Driglam Namzha, enabling them to create films that will promote Dzongkha and Driglam Namzha in films thereby preserving and promoting our tradition and culture through films.
