As part of a major revamp, a new logo was unveiled on 5th February 2025, coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of HRH Gyalsey, symbolizing a fresh chapter in celebrating Bhutanese cinema. This transformation underscores the significance of the National Film Awards and the government’s unwavering commitment to nurturing and supporting the Bhutanese film industry. Today’s logo launch represents the dawn of a new era, reinforcing a long-term pledge to uphold and promote the National Film Awards for years to come.
Bhutan National Film Award Logo Concept
The newly designed logo draws inspiration from three key elements that embody the essence of Bhutanese culture and cinema:
- The Dragon: Representing Bhutan as the “Land of the Thunder Dragon,” this symbol captures the country’s unique identity, elegance, and the indomitable spirit of its people.
- The Khadar: The Tashi Khadar, or silk scarf, is a revered emblem of achievement and celebration, signifying honor and success in Bhutanese tradition.
- The Film Reel: A timeless symbol of filmmaking, the film reel represents the art of storytelling, creativity, and the passion that drives Bhutanese cinema.
The seamless integration of these three elements reflects Bhutan’s cultural heritage and cinematic journey.
