Subsequently, the same team from Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority successfully carried out an advocacy program in Sarpang Dzongkhag on the Digitization of Cable Television Services (CATV), Installation of Ku Band dishes and its Rules and Regulations yesterday.
The officials from Sarpang Dzongkhag, local leaders and local cable operators were briefed on the value and importance of the digitization of cable TV service and various Rules and Regulations concerning the cable TV stakeholders. In addition, topics such as Process for book registration, obtaining filming license, accreditation of Journalist (both national and international), censorship and regulation of offensive content/information across various social media, Ku band dish permits and it’s rules and regulations, overview of the Authority’s Online Licensing System, EMF and QoS monitoring and Rules and Regulations regarding SIM card issuance and user information were all covered in the presentation.
The Authority would like to thank the Dzongkhag Officials including Dzongkhag ICTO and sector heads, Local Government Officials from Shompangkha, Dekiling, Shershong, Samtenling, Chuzangang, Umliing, Dekiling, Tareythang and Gelephu geogs for the presence. Likewise, we would also like to thank the various Local Cable Operators (LCOs) for their active participation in the program.
