This is to notify all the publishing houses including book vendors/enterprises that the new Rules for Publication have been endorsed and is effective from 10th March, 2016 corresponding to the 2nd Day of the 2nd Month of the Bhutanese Fire Male Monkey Year.
With the commencement of these Rules, the Rules Governing Printing Presses, Books and Newspapers, 2008 are hereby repealed. All are directed to strictly comply with the provisions of these Rules hereafter.
Further, the book vendors/enterprises are hereby informed that publication(s) for sale or distribution, whether such book, newspaper or magazine is published within the country or outside is required to be registered with the Authority. A grace period of one month is granted to complete the registration process with the Authority effective from the date of this notification.
